Hales Camp

FS 14EO4 Robbs Peak Quad sec 12, 7 Rim road to Hunters trail
This trail climbs out of the Rubicon canyon from just upstream of Hales Camp (5 miles above Ellicott’s bridge) to FS 14N11 that practically dead ends at the trailhead. The road 14N11 goes west to connect to FS 14N20. The trail was rebuilt around 1995 with a gentler grade and longer switchbacks most likely for OHV use so that they could cross the Rubicon at Hales Crossing and climb SE up the Deer Creek trail. Few hiker use the trail but it does offer a quicker access to Hales Camp area if you don’t mind driving roads to get there.
