The Auburn area Recreation and parks District is at your service when it comes to recreation, using local property tax funds to maintain its many parks, facilities, and ongoing activities.
The activities office is located at Recreation Park, 123 Recreation Park Drive, and their operations office is located at the Canyon View Community Center at 471 Maidu Drive.

The Canyon View center overlooks the beautiful American River Canyon and is a great place for local meetings, classes, seminars, workshops, conferences, and other activities. It is also a good place to park for access to some local trails like the XP and the NID canal.
Volunteers of the Auburn State Recreation Area (ASRA) known as the “Canyon Keepers” meet there the first Tuesday of each month to promote hikes and activities in the confluence area of the nearby canyon.
