ASRA connecting American Canyon Trail to Quarry Trail at Cool.
This trail is sometimes used for the WS run and is a section of the Robie Trail below the Auburn Lake Trails development and above the MFAR. 6 miles of mostly easy terrain winding in and out of crossing drainages before a junction with the Quarry Trail at its north end. Gets its name from the volcanic “ball bearing” rocks that try to trip hikers and horses when they get close to the quarry. Connects also to Maine Bar trail and Browns Bar trails that drop steeply down to the river.
