If you’re looking for great place close to Placerville for children to hike and play, this is a good place to start. The park offers a 9 basket disc golf (Frisbee) course, a children’s playground, tennis courts (2), softball fields (2), plus a mine and picnic area, all squeezed onto 30 acres.
Directions: Go east on Main St. to Cedar Ravine St. turn R and go 1.4 miles to the park on the Left.
The trails aren’t formal or signed, just paths that connect the ball diamonds and facilities together. Trails allow visitors to wander around the park and explore the back hillside. Explorers can even find primitive trails that lead above the park to (as yet) undeveloped private land. The gated mine is near the center of the park.
